The Great Lakes Suites project, regarded as one of the most remarkable works of trumpeter Wadada
Leo Smith, will have its European première at Jazz em Agosto. This concert will also feature
saxophonist Henry Threadgill who, like Wadada, is one of the most representative musicians of the
Chicago Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), which is celebrating its
50th anniversary this year.
