The project from pianists Alexander von Schlippenbach and Aki Takase, with DJ illvibe, crosses
space and time to create music that, in this concert, consists of an improvised accompaniment
to the 1927 documentary Symphony of a Great City. This black and white feature film, directed by
German Walter Ruttmann, records the various daily situations encountered in the German capital,
through visual impressions without apparent order or narrative and a revolutionary montage
technique.
